COVID-19 is changing everything about our daily life as we know it, and we’re all focused on how to best protect and support our families, employees, and clients in the face of this crisis. All of us at Harris Law & Co., are focused on enabling our customers to be productive and collaborative during this challenging time. Here are a couple of things we are doing to accomplish this goal:
Ensuring Continuity of Service
We recognize the critical role our services play in your family and business success. I want to assure you that we will remain fully operational unless directed by the South Dakota Supreme Court or our governor. Our office is still open for meetings and signing of documents under CDC guidelines.
Although we wish we could do everything remotely, certain legal documents still require in-person signings. Until this changes, our doors are open to those who need us.
Making It Easier Than Ever to Do Business with Us
Did you know we offer meetings over the phone and computer? Many of our clients are keeping their work on track without needing to come into the office. All you have to do is click a link that we send you, and you can meet with us from the comfort of your own home.
Keeping Everyone as Safe as We Can
If you need to make a trip into the office, we have put COVID-19 protocols and procedures into place. We are sanitizing our office space before and after each client meeting to keep everyone safe. We have also put into place social distancing guidelines. While we will still meet in person, everyone is seated over 6ft apart. We also hold all documents, including mail, securely in storage for 3 days to help prevent the spread through touching of the same materials. These protocols and others help ensure our ability to continue to serve your needs.
Planning Now is More Imperative than Ever
We understand having a plan in place is at the forefront of your mind. Although we have all known we "need" a plan, many of us have put it off. Life gets busy; we get it. We are here now and ready to ensure you, your family, and your business are protected from death or disability. Now, more than ever, we strongly encourage you to spend some time getting your planning done through a qualified estate and business planning attorney. Now is not the time to get your "online" law degree. Mistakes in DIY planning cause plans to fail entirely and often result in significantly higher costs and chaos to your loved ones. Don’t let that happen to your family.
