The Helpline Center is recognizing the impact of volunteer services. Volunteers make a good community great through donated hours, tireless efforts, and a sincere willingness to help.

“The Helpline Center has presented the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards for more than 35 years to celebrate the exemplary efforts of volunteers. In 2021, we are focused on appreciating the incredible work of volunteers that have stepped up during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are excited to celebrate you and thank you during National Volunteer Week, April 18-24, 2021. This will include social media posts, videos, thank you gifts, etc.”

Schedule for the Week
Monday, April 19
8am MT / 9am CT: We’ll kick off the fun with a special video message from the Helpline Center and announce the 2021 Spirit of Volunteerism Award Honorees.
Tuesday, April 20
9am, 10am, 11am and 12pm: We will highlight a Spirit of Volunteerism Award Honoree each hour in a video.
Throughout the Day: Helpline Center Staff and volunteers will be delivering Thank You Boxes and Yard Signs to our Spirit of Volunteerism Honorees. (You do not need to be home for your thank you box to be delivered.)
Wednesday, April 21
9am, 10am, 11am and 12pm: We will highlight a Spirit of Volunteerism Award Honoree each hour in a video.
1pm MT / 2pm CT: Rapid City and Sioux Falls Mayors will proclaim April 18-24 as National Volunteer Week and will thank the Spirit of Volunteerism Award Honorees via video.
Thursday, April 22
9am, 10am, 11am and 12pm: We will highlight a Spirit of Volunteerism Award Honoree each hour in a video.
1pm MT / 2pm CT: 2021 Citi Youth Leadership Award Recipients will be announced.
Friday, April 23
8am MT/ 9am CT: We will recognize the 2020-2021 Volunteer of the Month Winners.
Saturday, April 24
8am MT/ 9am CT: We’ll finish out the week thanking our sponsors who made the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards possible.
